Often when working in the Community Services sector, you will be required to work with other sectors in order to meet client needs. Your clients will have many different needs that must be addressed, and your service alone may not be able to meet these needs. So it may be necessary to refer to another service in a different sector that will be able to provide the services you require.

For example, a client in a mental health service may require drug and alcohol services as well. Or a Mother in a domestic violence situation may require housing assistance, and child protection services may be involved as well.

So you will often be required to work within many different services throughout the community services sector.
