Giving back to the local community is a very rewarding feeling that requires a great deal of care and compassion for those doing it tough. At ITHEA, our short courses and community service programs are designed to give young peoples, students valuable required skills, knowledge and insight into community services, social housing, and case management. With many Melburnians living under the poverty line and the rise in family violence, the need for adequate and reliable community services has increased in Victoria. If you are looking for a career that can have a positive impact on another person’s life, consider a course in community services in Melbourne.
Our community services course is a 2-year diploma that requires students to undertake at least 100 hours of practical placement. With both in-person and online classes available, these flexible study options flexibility in how they complete their course. As part of practical placement, students can undertake their youth work placement at one of the non-profit community or local community service partners we are affiliated with. Under the guidance of senior management and working autonomously, students gain valuable skills and understanding of disadvantaged individuals or groups in the community.
